Words of Encouragement:
God’s thoughts about you

Reference Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

God’s word is a powerful tool that I believe many of us don’t use often enough in our day-to-day living. On a regular basis, I catch myself thinking thoughts about myself or even about life in general that don’t line up with God’s word. When I realize that, I begin to confess God’s word. The above referenced scripture is one of my favorites. When I confess His word, I am overriding my thoughts with His. I believe many Christians are living defeated lives because of their thought life. God has blessed us all with a brain that sends and receives information and He’s holding us accountable for how we handle incoming and outgoing information. God has also blessed us with His Holy word that is filled with His knowledge and wisdom, but it is up to us to pick up the word and use it. His word NEVER returns void! In addition, the Bible says “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” Hebrews 4:12. Wow, God’s word is incredible! As a child of God, I must check my thoughts and intentions and be sure they match-up with the Word. It is too easy to be negative and critical in this life. Therefore, it takes much faith and practice to continuously think positive, good thoughts. Have you checked your thoughts lately? When you think about yourself or others do you find it hard to think good thoughts? If so, confess God’s word, “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
