February-March 2006

2006 Winter Wonderland Retreat Report: On March 3rd, 29 people met at Alpine Lake resort in the name of Jesus for fellowship and enjoyment for the season. The area had snow on Friday and then the sun came out on Saturday which made a perfect day for our visit to the “Bear Claw” tubing park. The weekend was an unforgettable one and we look forward to next year’s “Winter Wonderland”. Thank you to all who participated and to those who kept us covered in prayer during this retreat.

Upcoming Men’s Retreat: The date for CFMR’s 2006 Men’s Retreat has changed! The new “official” date is May 5-7, 2006. The retreat will be held at Summit Lake in Emmitsburg, Maryland (near Frederick). The retreat will be preceded by a golf outing Friday morning at a course located nearby the retreat facility. Details to follow. All are welcome to attend. Create a foursome and challenge the CFMR team! The ministry will be funding the lodging and meals, however, everyone will be responsible for their own golf fees. This retreat is made possible because of generous donations given to the ministry. If you desire to give an offering to help fund future retreats there will be an opportunity to do so some time during the retreat weekend. Registration for this retreat begins NOON March 27, 2006. To register call 717-738-1596 or email us at www.cfmr@pa.net. Reservations will be taken on a first come first served basis.

Inspirational Message -
“Tolerating your imperfections” By Dr. Robert Schuller
(Message taken from his March 6, 2006 Daily Devotional)

Scripture: “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”
1 Corinthians 3:16

How’s your self-image today? Having trouble accepting yourself after goofing, bungling, or sinning? Are you pulled down by a painful awareness of your shortcomings and your frailties? Then today is the time to reprogram your mental attitude, remodel your self-image, and give your self-esteem a “faith-lift.”

• Remember that even though you are imperfect, you are a child of God.
• Decide to join the human race. Nobody’s perfect; no one is sinless! Who do you think you are? Why are you so rough on yourself?
• The power of God within you can compensate for your imperfections and inability.
• Tolerate your imperfections, and keep striving for excellence!
• But never tolerate your own negative thinking!
• Do separate yourself from negative thinkers who put you down! You need to be built up.
• Gravitate to positive people who give you a lift!
• Choose - willfully and deliberately - to be a “bigger” believer! Yes, you are designed to be a positive thinker.

God is within you now, living in the best thoughts you are thinking. Affirmation: I shall tolerate my weakness and shortcoming by shifting my focus to the mighty power of God.

God is able to do great things through imperfect people! “Thank You, God, for living in me. Knowing this, I claim Your power, Your holiness, Your ability, and Your wisdom, that my weakness may be made perfect in Your sight. Amen.”
