The Mbakops live in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Jean-Pierre raised as a Christian, came to the United States from Cameroon, Africa in 1988 where he settled in Maryland. He met and married Wendy, originally from Chicago, on October 13, 2000. Wendy has been a Christian since the age of 17. Jean-Pierre and Wendy love the Lord with their whole hearts and believe strongly in the bond of marriage. They realized early in their marriage that it would take the Father, Son and Holy Ghost to make their marriage into what God intended it to be. However, they know that it is a process.
Jean-Pierre loves playing and coaching soccer and has committed himself to bringing children to Christ through the game of soccer. In addition to holding soccer camps three times a year for the children in Hanover, PA, he provides his services to Youth for Christ during soccer PAL week. His ultimate goal is to open a Christian soccer academy.
Wendy loves to teach the Word of God. When she is not doing intense personal study of the Word for her own edification she is teaching it in some venue. Wendy is currently teaching a women’s Sunday school class at the Hanover First Church of God where she and Jean-Pierre are members. She has a heart for women issues especially single teenage moms. Wendy is the co-founder of Mother-to-Mothers and a Board member of the Women of Freedom Foundation.
Jean-Pierre and Wendy joined CFMR in the Fall 2004. They had a passion for the growth of the ministry from the moment they met Eric and Joan in May 2002 at Haley’s Farm. After attending their first marriage retreat and seeing how it blessed their marriage, they knew they had to do more than attend, they wanted to serve and they didn’t care how. Jean-Pierre and Wendy consider it an enormous blessing to be board members and are committed to serving with their whole hearts. They truly believe in Jesus’ word in Mark 9:23 … “all things are possible to him that believeth.”
