FEATURED ARTICLE: "Forgiveness"

Not to forgive anyone in this life costs more grief in the long run than the offense itself. Holding onto resentment spells torment. Even physical illness can result in holding a grudge against anyone. As anger and bitterness grows, so do sleepless nights and rotten attitudes.

Forgiveness begins in the heart through willingness to solve the problem. If you aren't willing, ask God to put this gift into your heart. Then, pray for the person, but keep in mind, one little prayer isn't enough. You have to work at it. Taking a step toward those who have offended you or who you think is holding a grudge against you is next. Sometimes just a smile or a pleasant word, an apology, a handshake breaks the strain between you and your neighbor. If he/she doesn't respond in kindness at least you have done all that you can. Put it in God's hands. His very nature is rooted in the bonds of love and forgiveness. Only He knows how to shake loose enmity and strife. The grip of an unforgiving spirit is like a viper bite. Its' bitter poison will spread to every area of your body, soul and mind. So forgive, its like a medicine. Most importantly, at the judgment seat of Christ the habit of forgiving people will result in a great reward. It's a choice every person has to make and it all begins with the decision to adopt God's way of doing things. God Bless You!
