CFMR’s First “Kidz” Camp
CFMR’s first “Kidz Camp” was a tremendous blessing! Black Rock Retreat is a terrific place to have camp. God graciously gave us beautiful weather and an abundance of His love. We went swimming at the lake and many of us went down the slide (but others were too chicken, just ask Valerie). We love you Valerie and we are counting on you going down the slide next year! Yes, we are going to have a “Kidz Camp 2005”! Registration won’t begin until next year so keep watching for the advertisement in the CFMR newsletter.

Article of Interest: “Is Your Vote For President And Vice President Meaningful In The Electoral College System?
Source: Text directly taken from Federal Register website, www.archives.gov

“Yes, within your State your vote has a great deal of significance. Under the Electoral College system, we do not elect the President and Vice President through a direct nation-wide vote. The Presidential election is decided by the combined results of 51 State elections (in this context, the term “State” includes DC). Your vote helps decide which candidate receives your State’s electoral votes. It is possible that an elector could ignore the results of the popular vote, but that occurs very rarely.

The founders of the nation devised the Electoral College system as part of their plan to share power between the States and the national government. Under the Federal system adopted in the Constitution, the nation-wide popular vote has no legal significance. As a result, it is possible that the electoral votes awarded on the basis of State elections could produce a different result than the nation-wide popular vote. Nevertheless, the individual citizen’s vote is important to the outcome of each State election (article concluded)”.

One last note, before deciding on which candidate to vote for, be sure to seek God’s wisdom (man’s wisdom can deceive you) through prayer and studying His word. Here are some of the issues-at-hand to consider:

Abortion: “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward” (Psalm 127:3).
Yes, mothers have a choice, but do they know the consequences for the decision they make? Abortion not only destroys a life but the mother is emotionally and physically wounded for life. If you have any questions about this matter contact your local crisis pregnancy center.

Homosexuality: “If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination..” (Leviticus 20:13).

Marriage: Jesus addresses marriage as introduced by God in the book of Genesis. “And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female....” (Matthew 19:4).

War and Peace: Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:”....Ecclesiastes 3:8, A time to love, and a time to hate; A time of war, and a time of peace.

Above all, we need a President who acknowledges Jesus Christ as His Savior and openly declares that he prays about every decision made at the White House. The Bible tells us in I Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” Our nation is a blessed nation and the enemies biggest threat is our freedom. Let’s do all we can to protect that freedom.....your vote can make a difference for your country!!!
