August/September 2005

Hurricane Relief:
Our thoughts and prayers are with the hurricane victims. This ministry will be donating money to the Red Cross to help fund their disaster relief project. Please prayerfully consider doing the same. No donation is too small. When everyone gives many lives are touched.

CFMR’s 4th Anniversary:
September 2005, CFMR celebrates 4 years of ministering to God’s people. Thank you to all of our supporters who help fund retreats and pray for this ministry.

2005 “Kidz Camp” Report:
August 19-21, a group of 12 attended CFMR’s Kidz Camp at Black Rock Retreat in Quarryville, Pennsylvania. The weekend included a water balloon toss contest, a game of bingo (with prizes), a day at the lake along with a huge water slide, a game of kickball and so much more. It brought joy to us to see the children having so much fun and excitement during their stay at Black Rock. Several of the children did not want to leave but, we reassured them that we’ll be back next year! God is good.

Upcoming Retreats:

Married Couples Retreat - The next CFMR Married Couples retreat is scheduled for November 4-6, 2005 (2 night stay) at North Glade Inn Bed and Breakfast, Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. She will be happy to assist you.

Words of encouragement:
Anger: A God-given Emotion
Submitted by Joan Bair

God has much to say about anger in the Bible and actually allows us to be angry, but at the same time He lets us know that anger can get out of control if there’s no self control over that emotion. If you find yourself angry about a situation don’t condemn yourself because of the way you feel. Search your heart for the root of the problem and ask yourself and God some questions such as is there a legitimate, justifiable reason for the anger? Is your anger consuming you and adversely affecting others around you? Then, search the scriptures for answers about the emotion of anger that can help you find a balance when dealing with this God-given emotion. Below I have included some scriptures I found. Think about each one and ask God to help you understand what He’s trying to say and how it might help you gain control over anger when it arises in your life.

Ephesians 4:26-27 - “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.”

Psalm 30:4-5 - “Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.”

Jonah 4:4 - “Then the Lord said, “Is it right for you to be angry?”

Matthew 5:22 - “But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment..”
